ALREADY Britain looks set to have its biggest delegation to the International Youth Summer Camp since 1990.

The summer camp - to be held from 22 to 29 July in Arezzo, Tuscany - is a unique gathering of young radicals from over 16 European countries, run and planned by young people.

Italy is an obvious choice for this year's camp, after the closely-run elections in which many young people voted for the victorious far-right bloc. The camp will stress how to fight the rise of the right.

The feminist and anti-sexist content of the camp has also been developed for this year's camp, the eleventh organised by radical youth groups standing in solidarity with the Fourth International, the world socialist organisation.

Socialist Outlook sellers are helping to publicise the British delegation to the camp, which is organised by the red, green and feminist youth quarierly, Liberation!. Sellers will be offering information about the camp to young people at the huge 28 May Anti Nazi League carnival in Brixton's Brockwell Park, and at the 4 June demonstration to close down the Campsfield Detention Centre near Oxford.

This year the camp will be nearly half the cost of last year's lively 850-strong camp at Tränas, Sweden. The all-in price of £150 includes executive coach travel from Britain, meals and entry to films, concerts, discussions and discos at the camp.

Donations from Socialist Outlook readers will allow us to subsidise some unwaged young people to go to the camp for the first time. Over the last fortnight an extra £435 in deposits and donations arrived at the Liberation! office, putting the deposit on the coach booked within easy reach.

A wide range of materials are available to promote the camp, in addition to the three-colour poster in the centre of this Socialist Outlook.

Readers are asked to help give as many young people as possible the opportunity of coming on the Liberation! delegation by putting posters on display in local schools and colleges.

Leaflets - 20 postfree for £1 -explaining the camp in more details, and a fuller brochure - for two second-class stamps - are available from Liberation!.

• To send in your £35 deposit for the youth camp, or to make a donation, please send cheques, payable to Liberation! Publishing Association, to Liberation!, PO Box 1109, London N4 2UU.
