say that drugs are not 'abnormal' because they are present and used in every society. Don't we all live in 'abnormal societies, which make us behave 'abnormally' and take 'abnorma! painkillers'?

Society tells young people how we should look, think and act. There are massive social problems such as homelessness, unemployment, hunger and so on.

Drugs give a false and brief feeling of happiness. They help us relax. or be awake when we want to or when we manage by ourselves.

De-criminalisation won't change that. But it would make drugs cheaper and easier to get hold of, and in turn probably increase the use. A drugs user won't stop beacue it is half-price.

For many reasons, drugs are very controversial. Many rightwingers are struggling for a legalisation - they could make a nice little fortune on peoples misery. To legalise drugs gives a helping hand to those who want to make a profit in this ousmess.

There are also practical, political reasons why we should be against legalisation. A person who are only thinks about getting drugs certainly doesn't care about whatever decisions the state makes: and cares even less about protesting against This is nothing new to the ruling class.
