1. Workers are allowed to strike only after 30 days have gone by, or after the dispute has been medt2. Workers must give 48 hours notiee of their intent to strike. 3. Scabbing is permitted, 4. Picketing Is allowed on the premIser only with the employer s 5. Even I the strike is Megal" under these terms workers can still be damlased for "technical, structural or economic" reasons, 6. Strikes over firings, layofts and recognition of union jurisdiction are outlawed unlees they go first to the Labour Court arbitration process. 7, Strikes are prohibited in "essen. tal services" such as those concerning beaith and safety. 8. Strikes are also prohibited In services regatring continuous maintenance. This is not spelled out, but could include mines, steel, food pros duction and wherever the employer deems work b needed. 9. Bosser can fire wotk ers for tak. Ing part in, or even "contemplating" en unprocedural strike, Unions can be sued for losses. 10. Their is no obligation for em ployers to recognise or barenin with unions, 11. Arbitration is by government commission. The unions no longer have • right to reject arbitrators they think are biased.
