ership. Sinn Fein has announced a new 'peace initiative', aimed at winning support. in Britain.

The campaign was introduced by a Martin McGuiness speaking tour, HOME NEWS culminating in the Bloody drawal. Sunday rally in Manchester, which mobilised 1500 people.

Representatives of the city's Labour Council welcomed Martin to the city, and both the Bolton and Manchester TUCs decided to organise fact-finding delegations to the North of Ireland this summer.

Sinn Fein representatives are increasingiy worried by the stalemate approach of the British government and the British Labour leadership support for Tory and Unionist intransigence.

The most recent meeting of the network supporting the initiative decided to focus on the bipartisan policy of the present Labour leadSupporters will be doing as many meetings as possible with Party members and trade unionists, to win support for Irish national self-determination and ers. peace through British withGerry Adams will do four major meetings in June in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London, to be followed by two councillors in each area doing meetings for the next week.

It was also decided to lobby for the removal of the Emergency Powers Act, to mobilise against the renewal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act and to concentraté on the civil rights issues.

The initiative is supported by the Troops Out Movement, the Irish in Britain Representation Group, the Labour Party Irish Society, the Labour nation.
