More than anything, this is an illustration of the manipulative racism of the police. They set that officer up to get a beating, and then suggest that -because themselves against and officer who happened to the black -the demonstrators were as racist as Socialists have a simple duty. We have to get the truth out to the whole working class if we are to stop this attempt by the police and Tory press to criminalise the whole of the anti-racist movement. In fact the example of the properly run campaign in 1990 about the Trafalgar Square Poll Tax rebellion shows what can be done to challenge the police's story.
