No hope from UN gunmen

Weren't the US marines who waded ashore in Somalia last September there to stabilise the country, put an end to warlord cenestersm and create the basis for ensuring food aid got to the people?

And didn't this come at a time when the only hope for the Boshelmeted UN troops who stood ing?
