Young people, parents and trade unionists took part in a recent demonstration against Labour-controlled Leicester city council's attempts to close down three adventure playgrounds; Braunstone, Saffron Lane and Highfields. NUPE banners were especially prominent. The march, which took place on March 13, was reportedly the biggest (and definitely the noisiest!) to take place in the town for a long time.
